Really happy with this Mandostang! Showed up in Atlanta, GA in 2 days from London! Yes, I had to adjust the saddles for correct intonation, a quarter twist of the truss rod, and a quick string slot filing to get the G string to sit correctly... but it now plays as well as my expensive electric guitars! Sounds amazing through my pedal board as well as direct out to the PA. I can’t put it down! I’ve had a few name brand electric mandos in the past that I got rid of because they played poorly and sounded awful. Was starting to think all e-mando’s were a gimmick. Really glad I gave this one a shot! One note… the red Mandostang pictured on the website is an older model and the current model is much brighter red and has different (less) headstock decals. It’s exactly the color red of the Warren Ellis Mandocello pictured next to it. Over all for the price, value and playability of the Stang I’m giving it 5 stars! Probably going to eventually order another one! Great customer service if you have questions or issues as well. Thanks Eastwood!

What has attracted me for a long time about Eastwood is of course the ultra-cool styling of their instruments: this is one reason they don't stay on the shelf long. I tried to an Airline Pocket Bass last year: if you see one, grab it because they are sold out. Variety is a second Eastwood attraction; their design genius is applied to a wider range of instruments than you may be able to imagine. (Just look at their site). Online reviews were very positive, and I simply had to try one for myself. I live in Taiwan where you do see Eastwood acoustics but not the funky electric models. I was lucky enough to get hold of a Sunburst Mandostang last month. First, Eastwood email response time is immediate (thank you, Matthew). We got the order placed and the shipping arranged within a few hours of my request. I was surprised that the Mandostang arrived with almost no delay from the Chinese New Year shutdown here in Taiwan. Overall excellent service all the way. Unboxed still in tune. I spent half an hour intonating the four strings, plugged it into the amp and it was all I had hoped and more. Perfect action, neck true, and good pickup sound. Once I get used to the GDAE tuning I will be using it on stage at school. And it looks so cool! My students keep asking me what it is--mini guitar, ukulele? Everyone wants to play it. What more can I say? At the very reasonable price point of these Eastwood instruments, you can fulfil your dream of owning that far-out groovy axe you never thought you could afford. I give this Mandostang five stars for its CP value and the sheer fun of playing it. I will be buying another funky Eastwood in the future. John

The Eastwood mandostang is a great sounding and versitle instrument. I have recorded with it (through a Marshall head/Hiwatt quad) getting an awesome melodic 'fuzz' tone. I have used it for chordal accompaniment/rhythm on live gigs in an 8 peice Brazilian Carnival band getting a crystal clear tone straight into the P.A. The mandostang is perfectly set up and easy to play.
